adding hard drive to almond
« on: November 21, 2016, 07:20:06 pm »
I'm on a Mac, and want to connect an external hard drive to the Almond 3 usb port to use as a backup drive with Apple's Time Machine.

Drive is connected, but not available on the Mac.  How do I have the almond activate it for use with my computers?

Ensure that the drive format is either NTFS or FAT and login to the Almond Web UI-->Advanced-->FTP (Enable it), and map the drive on your devices.

It's a Mac formatted drive.  I understand it's not compatible at the moment, but can you assure me that it will be compatible in an update?

I probably wouldn't bet on them adding it anytime soon. You could try formatting in exFAT? Is not specifically supported but it might be worth a shot.
