More prominent alert?
« on: December 01, 2016, 06:28:45 am »
Is there way to set up a rule so that, when an action happens, a text message or other more prominent alert occurs?

I'd like to get notification if a certain door is open, whether home or not, without being in the app (so a text message or iPhone alert)

The notification shows up in your iPhone notifications. If it isn't then you probably have them disabled.

I got annoyed by the audible alerts on my iPhone, so I was able to turn off the audible signal and just see them pop up on my screen.  You can change this setting in the iPhone's Settings Menu under Notifications.

Ahh - I should have thought of that.  I may have my alerts disabled on the Almond app.

I can rectify that...

Thanks!

Also just in case you don't know in the Almond app under devices, click on the little cog wheel and set notifications to always for the device you want them for.

OK - so I've got my notifications turned on in my iPhone settings.  I have Almond set for everything on, and Alerts is checked.  But I don't get any alerts - just a symbol on the Almond apps saying I have a "message"

Is there something I need to do in a rule so that an alert comes through?

Also, for Ohiomedic, under Devices in the Almond iPhone App, there is not a cog wheel.  What am I missing?  There is a wrench, and I have notifications set to "always" but not getting any notes other than in the Almond App

You can try uninstalling and installing the app over again but it sounds like you still don't have all the settings turned on in your settings. Nothing else should be stopping your notifications from coming up.
