Z Wave Switch Control Hue Bulbs
« on: December 02, 2016, 06:06:10 pm »
Hey there, I'm working on a home automation setup, and I'm wondering if it's possible to control hue bulbs from a zwave switch. ie. I have a track controlled by a z-wave switch, and I'd like to add a couple of lamps to the switch. I'd think you'd be able to do this in rules, but the switch turning on or off doesn't seem to be a trigger.

Thanks!

Sorry I read this and it's super unclear

I can program the rule in the web interface fine, ie. multilevel switch on (wall switch) -> turn multilevel switch on (Hue bulb)
But then turning on the switch physically doesn't trigger the hue bulbs
I also tried using the trigger multilevel switch dimmer > 1% and it doesn't trigger the bulbs to turn on

Thanks!

More information, when I physically turn the wall switch off, it doesn't update it's new 'off' status to the router, so I'm guessing this is why the rule isn't working. It's a Linear WD500Z-1 Z-Wave 500-Watt Wall-Mount Dimmer Switch
Any ideas?

If you want to force an update, you can try pressing the switch button twice. That should force an update.
