Weather and Clock App Suggestion
« on: January 09, 2017, 08:44:48 am »
Hi Developer,

I was wondering if it would be possible to merge the Weather and the Clock App together and have it auto dim after a certain period like a screen saver switching between clock and weather.

I have my Almond+ mounted on the wall right in-front of the stairs. Each morning when I come down, it would be very nice to see the time and weather before heading out.

I think this would be a great feature alone for all the almond users.

I totally agree; I actually mentioned this the other day in my report on the 090 firmware release, where I found that the Weather no longer auto-updates.

Here was my suggestion:

It would be really nice for the Time and Weather to be integrated, like in an Extras section, where one can select which (or both) to display, and which is on top, for example, and the text size for each.  Never made sense to me that you couldn't have -both- the time and weather displayed.

The only reason I got an Almond (A1A) was for the weather feature; it's THAT good. Now if it could actually show negative temperatures.

Bought A+ for home automation, but really want the display to be useful, too.   Otherwise, might as well be a tiny black box.

Allow user to set time spent on weather, then clock (like 30 seconds each, or 10/50), with update to weather every hour.  Course it would be nice to have radar, too, and hourly temps for next 10 hours.

Of course it would be nice to have a post-it or message board, so I could display "Max, don't forget to take your swimsuit today"...or something, of course with expiration time.

+1 to merge, with the ability to either make the weather or the time the prominent visual.
