Connect Internet side wirelessly
« on: April 21, 2017, 08:53:02 am »
This maybe the lazy way, but I am switching internet providers, at least for a few months, long story.
So I am switching to Verizon cell. Right now I have it hardwired into Almond+. Can the Almond+ connect via wifi?
My reason is so I can move the MiFi around and see if I can get better signal.
Moving from Tuxedo to Almond+
And Loving it.

Yes, you can switch the Almond+ in to Range Extender mode, which would receive the Wi-Fi from Verizon.

I am pretty sure the answer, but to be clear, if I do that then all credential checking would be shifted to the Verizon. I would lose all the cool monitoring features of the A+.

I believe so. Some of it will still work but it will be less reliable because then the A+ isn't actually handling the DHCP server and such.

I may need some help with this, my new hot spot does not have wire connections.
So, I guess when I turn on extender mode, there will be something for the SSID and password?
Will all devices connected currently to the A+ will have internet?
Of course some of this maybe plain sight, and it will all make sense when I get home.
