Halo and Halo+ Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
«

Is anybody using the Halo Smoke and CO detector? It has Zigbee HA 1.2, so it should work. They say that there is compatibility with Lowes Iris, SmartThings and Alexa.

Any thoughts or experiences with this or any other
hard wired
Zigbee or Z wave smoke detectors is appreciated.

I have seen those at Lowe's and wondered about them. They seem to be everything I originally bought a Nest Protect for. Sensors, ability to control it, etc... I might look at it again and see if it is detected.

Ok. I have a Halo+ now.
I can say that it pairs fine. The temperature sensor works. LED brightness can be controlled. Beyond that... Not much yet. I sent the logs to Securifi and talked to Halo Labs so hopefully it will all work out. Using the app control, it really is what I wanted out of the Nest Protect (although the "party mode" is a bit much). Oddly their app does not show you the temperature.
In the end I think this will be much more useful than the Nest Protect.
One gotcha (part of the reason I contacted them) is that right now it is either ZigBee controlled OR via App. You need to wipe it to switch. It should be able to do both, but they are waiting for more user feedback and requests for it before making it available (they do use it internally they said).

Nice! I see that Lowes has them on sale until the 24th, so I will pick a few up this weekend.

Well, I picked up a Halo today... I got it to pair, and can see everything viewing it on LCD display, but that's it. The app doesn't work, nor does the web based control - I get an "unsupported device" error.

I was able to control the LED dimming on the LCD and in the app. Not much else yet.
