Access point with FTP on Mac and PC
« on: October 31, 2017, 04:26:05 pm »
I have the following setup:
- Almond 2015 setup as Access Point
- Connected via USB Seagate 2Tb Expansion Drive
- FTP is enabled and named Ambill_FTP
- Local IP Address - 192.168.2.11
- All FTP Settings were set to Enable, with Port 21 and 10 simultaneous connections

Questions for Mac
Assuming I need to go to Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server (if not please correct):
- What should be the ip address that you enter on the field? (i've tried both: ip address and "name" - no avail. Although first time it did connect to something, but size was only 1Gb, it was full (i clicked Info on Mac) and I was not able to add anything)
- What would be the username and password? The admin or something else?
- Can I create a different set of users to limit the access to the hard drive?
- Any way to make sure that it tries to "re-connect" after every reboot of the mac?
- What would be the process to connect from outside world into the same drive?

Questions for PC:
- How do I connect to ftp server and keep it connected all the time?

Any help would be appreciated

@Dima

Once you tap on the connect to the server and enter ftp://Almond IP address.

It will prompt the username and password, enter the web interface username and password which you can find by tapping Status>>Web admin on the Almond touchscreen.

It should automatically connect when you reboot the MAC.

As of now, we have not added the support to create different users and to connect the FTP from outside Almond network.
