Stand alone switch to control multiple lights?
« on: November 14, 2017, 09:59:34 pm »
I've hit a bit of a roadblock with my now 90% smart bulb covered home.

There are instances when we don't want to turn on/off or dim lights with the app via phone, tablet, etc.

I had hoped to use my Lutron Pico remotes, but that does not appear to be an option. They still show up as 'unsupported device' when paired.

Looking at the wiki does not find things like the Philips Tap, or Aeon Labs Minimote.

Just wondering if anyone has has luck with a similar device lately.

Thanks,

Sean

Secondary controllers are not supported by Almond at this time. You can use all sorts of other switches or triggers, but devices that act as a controller (like those two) do not. For example, you can use an Almond Click to control the lights.

Thank you! That's going to turn into a make or break for me unless we can find some sweet simple triggers. The search continues!

I'd get the Click when they are back in stock then. Very simple, very small device.

Triggers are pretty easy to obtain but it all depends on what you want to do and how you want to do it. Including form factor. Heck, an unlinked Amazon Dash button (that at least gets on the network) can be a trigger button easy enough. Or Almond Clicks, or any number of switches or devices.
