Port Forwarding Isn't Working
« on: November 30, 2017, 12:03:51 am »
I just received my Almond+ today. I set it up and got it working properly, but port forwarding is not functioning properly. I am using the correct outside NAT IP address, the correct insiade NAT IP address, the service are functioning properly on the taget machine, and I even rebooted the Almond+, per https://forum.securifi.com/index.php/topic,5575.msg28117.html#msg28117 but port forwarding will not function properly.

Please advise.

Did you test it after opening using a tool like portchecker? ISP's block some ports from opening and they may be restricting specific ports. Try a different set of ports for the device or devices you are trying to forward.

Yes, I did check that, and none of the ports are blocked by my ISP.

I'm at a loss to explain it, but port forwarding now appears to be functioning properly now (sort-of): I can access my web server from PCs outside the home network, and incoming email appears to be being forwarded to my email server; however, I can't access the web server with it's domain name from inside the home network. I can still access the web server from inside the home network with its inside NAT IP address or via localhost on the machine itself, but not via its domain name.

So, it's *mostly* functioning properly now (with no additional input from me), but appears to have just a few "permanent hiccups".

FYI, that's been my experience.

my port forwards may or may not work each time i add a new one. the solution that took days to find but strangely now works immediately every time, is just to reorder them. doesnt matter what order, i just change one up or down the list and they all start working again.  :S

Port Forwarding stopped working for me a few days ago. Will try reordering them. By the way, if I try to delete a Port Forwarding rule (from my iPad over local WiFi connection to Almond+) I get immediately logged out and the rule is not deleted. (I'm running the latest R092 firmware.)

Update:

Using the Chrome browser instead of Safari, I get a different, but still non-working response when trying to delete a Port Forwarding entry. After clicking the Delete button next to an entry, Chrome displays a message from the router indicating that the entry has been deleted and asking me to click Save. When I do that, however, the entry is not deleted.

So now we have 2 problems:

1. Port forwarding is not working.
2. The button to Delete port forwarding entries is also not working.

These are quite critical bugs that need to be fixed ASAP or I will have to abandon the Almond device completely.

@ Casey_SJ,

I just tested it and works fine at our end. Could you please clear the complete browser cache and then try again and also check it in "Incognito mode".

@Ashok,

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried all of the following, but none worked:

1. Latest Chrome on Mac with all caches cleared, standard browser window.
2. Latest Chrome on Mac, Incognito window.
3. Latest Firefox on Mac with all caches cleared, standard browser window.
4. Latest Firefox on Mac, Private window.

I am still unable to delete any Port Forwarding entries. And, of course, port forwarding itself is not working. Some pictures attached, but not sure how useful they will be...

*** UPDATE ***

I was able to delete Port Forwarding rules by doing a Factory Reset on the Almond+.

I recreated the port forwarding rules and they are working fine!

I also found that my firewall (McAfee Internet Security) had disabled access to one of the ports.

So everything is working fine now.
