Hello from Southern California. Looking forward to my Almond Plus. No big rush for it at the moment, my new Mac Pro that supports 802.11ac won't be out until the Fall anyway. 

I was so relieved when they said they would support AC, since I bought the Almond+ before Apple had anything that would work with the new standard.

I'm also interested in home automation and who will be the best reasonably priced devices to use.

I guess you got the only notebook coming, that's been announced so far, that will support 1300Mbps 802.11ac so you should be getting some good speeds over wireless.

Hopefully some people here on the forums will be able to help out with regards to where you can find affordable home automation sensors, there's already one discussion going on the topic, although it seems to be more related to the UK.
