Title: Schedule Time Zone
Post by: punkorambo on June 12, 2017, 07:53:31 pm
I have three devices on a schedule and all three of them continue to have internet access when they are not supposed to. Do I need to set their schedule on UTC time? Or local? Or is something else going on? Thank you!

@ punkorambo,

To make time based Internet restriction effective Almond should be in sync with your local time. On your Almond App please select "setting">>"advanced">> change the time zone to your local time and let us know the status.

The fix suggested above is BS. Yes, you can go into the advanced settings and change the time zone, but IT WILL NOT STAY THAT WAY. Mine reverts back to PST anywhere from 8 hours to two days after I make the change. Incredibly frustrating when you are trying to maintain young children on a schedule of internet use. I have a tech ticket pending on this problem that has seen no action for over 9 days now.

Good luck with it, I've had none. This seems to be a technical problem that is just insurmountable. And, yes, I'm getting pretty salty about this.  >:(

@ Scarlip,

We completely understand your situation and technically, once the Time Zone is set, it shouldn't change at all automatically. However, our team is debugging on this to take care of it in  a timely manner, meanwhile, could you please let us know, whenever the Time zone reverts back at that time, does your WAN IP shows the correct location?

I haven't noticed my time zone change, however my schedule just isn't working properly at all. I had some luck with the newest iOS update. I set the kids group and put it on a schedule. The first evening it worked and disabled the internet for the group but the next morning it wasn't enabled again when it should have been. Later that day I went back into the schedule and it was different than what I had set it to (which happened with the previous iOS version of the app as well)

I understand you are working on it. However, my time zone changes at least once if not twice a day, and yes my IP is still reported as CST. My units always revert back to PST.....everytime! I've used the android app to change it back, I've used the local management website to change it, no luck. The Almond touch screens can't be used at all. They change nothing and the screen can not be changed at all. Now, I understand that the on unit app is beta, so I guess I'm not expecting anything there, but it seems that the other methods should work.

BTW, I am now also seeing that the schedule that I have setup for one of the units will randomly change as well. Frustration with this feature has become very high....
