Title: Weather (beta)
Post by: schelts on January 04, 2016, 10:53:25 pm
This has stopped working on my Almond 2015.
It just returns back to main menu.
Is it discontinued?

@ schelts,

We have seen this issue on very few cases and in some areas, we are still working on resolving it. Meanwhile, try to run the diagnostics and then check if the Weather is loading.

Mine does not work either, but I assumed it was because my A2015 is in repeater mode.
Should it be working despite being in repeater mode? (The time widget works).

As Ashok mentioned the time works fine.

Same here,, diagnostic works,, says weather is loading but just goes back to main screen and no weather. I ordered 3 of these because of the weather function. If they cannot get it to work, going to return them.

Check the autoip.json file in your /tmp directory.

See if it contains all the data relative to your location, including weather.

Not sure if this is accurate for the Almond 2015 but that's where it is for the Almond+.

How do I access that file. I was sent a link and was told if I could see that link that my isp was  not blocking this. I checked the link and all my local weather stuff was there, however I do not have a clue how to look in the router and see that file. Seems to me this should be something support should do.

Our next version of firmware would take care of this issue.

When is this new version expected? I sold some of these to clients with this feature and need to know what to expect?

No ETA as of now yet because we would be working on other improvements and may take time. However, if there is any firm date I would be happy to post it here.

Can you send me instructions on how to SH into the router and fix the problem? Like email them to me.

The latest software update adds weather and time screens, but there's no way yet to make the clock automatically appear when the screen is idle, as is the case with the TAP-R2; Securifi is working on a software update for this.

@ multisystemelectronics,

As of now, no and hopefully through future firmware updates.

it sure is weird. Weather on 2 of my 4 units,(all same model) 2015 suddenly started working for about 5 days, ,then when the power cycled they would not work on the weather again.
