Title: Scene at Specific Time
Post by: whelanc on November 26, 2016, 05:18:36 pm
Is there a way to have a scene automatically occur at a set time?

So, if I set up a few lights on a scene, they can all go on in the evening, in lieu of a light timer?

Use the rules to do this. In the app click on the "more" symbols then rules then you build it there. Set the "if" to your specific time.

Also, you can set up triggers ("IF's") that work with sunset / sunrise or a set amount of time before or after it.

Thanks - got that to work.

However, is there a way to use one rule to have a light go on, and off, or do I have to have separate rules?

Hi whelanc,

Rules engine is the way to go as mparadis suggested in this case. But to make this job easier we are going to include Scenes as a part of Rules in the coming month. This way, you can choose to trigger a Scene at a specific time, day of the week or as per weather.

It depends upon the length. The current rules only allow a 4 minute and 59 second delay on an action. So if you want a time frame longer then that you will need a rule for on and off.
