Title: Popp smoke sensor / siren
Post by: rlopes on December 18, 2016, 06:43:06 pm
Hi all,

I have recently acquired the Popp Smoke Sensor / Siren (http://www.popp.eu/products/sensors/smoke-sensor/). I was able to correctly pair the device as a "smoke sensor". My intention was also to use it as an internal siren but the Almond app does not associate any "action" to the smoke sensor.

Interestingly enough, the Almond+ itself is able to identify the internal siren of the smoke sensor (see attached photo) and I can manually trigger it from there. I do not know if this is something possible with all smoke sensors or not (this is the first one I bought) but would it be possible to extend this ability to the Rules section of the Almond app? This would allow to use it as an internal siren and as far as I see the only limitation at the moment is on the app itself.

Any thoughts?

@ rlopes,

Please do send us the log files, so that I could discuss this with our team and get back to you after debugging it.

@ rlopes,

Thank you and it seems like we are yet to add the support for it.

Any news on the Siren support?

After installing firmware R091, I have noticed that the ability to trigger the siren directly from the Almond+ has been lost. Not that I ever used it (because it was not possible to use it in a "rule") but seems to be a step back on the support of this device.
