Hi,
Has anyone used the Ikea Tradfri bulbs with the Almond+ ?
I'm just wondering if the Zigbee in the Almond works with the bulbs?

The Tradfri line appears to use the ZigBee LL protocol the answer would be... Not exactly. Past answers have indicated that the Almond+ supports ZigBee HA. There are similarities between the protocols and sometimes things can work, but there is no guarantee.

It seems to use the HA profile:
The non-interoperability between the newly launched IKEA smart lighting products and the Philips Hue bridge has been analyzed. One of the issues found is that the IKEA bulbs report their ProfileID as corresponding to the ZigBee Home Automation (ZHA) profile rather than the ZigBee Light Link (ZLL) profile. As the IKEA bulbs do not behave fully compliant with the ZLL standard, they are rejected by the Hue bridge. IKEA is aware of this and informed us their intent is to have the IKEA smart lighting bulbs to work with the Philips Hue bridge.

I think I'll get a couple and give it a go!

Keep the forum informed. I think other people will want to know the results. Securifi may be able to help if there IS an issue. One thing I would recommend:
After pairing, try each available feature. Then send logs saying what they are for (the Tradfri) and finally post on here (this thread works) saying how it worked (or not) and reference the log name. That can all help Securifi and other users. I think mparadis made a sample "new sensor" post that has all sorts of useful information that could be listed.

I should know that one by heart and use it myself to be honest...

So, today I bought the Ikea Trådfri Lighbulb, Remote, and Gateway.
They are quite cheap, so it would be really nice if Securifi added support for them, or at least the gateway like they did with Hue.
Of course the first I tried was to see if the Almond+ would recognize it.
And it kind of did, but failed to pair.
When I turned the lamp on while having my Almond+ in Add sensor mode, it detected the lamp, and tried to communicate with it, but after about a minute it failed.
I also tried to pair the remote, but that was not detected at all.
And the only "detection" it did of the gateway was to send me a notification that a new network device had joined.

Any update on this topic with support for Ikea Trådfri? They are dirt cheap compared to hue and other. Tried searching the forum and this was kinda one of two topics.

Well, I bought the small kit with a lamp and the small dimmer puck. Tried pairing the lamp with no luck, didn’t even pick it up. I managed to pair the small dimmer but once paired the device got listed as “not compatible” or something like that, so it was kinda useless.

submit logs after trying to pair and title them tradfri not pairing

Where do i find those logs? And where to submit them? Is it in the web interface or somwhere else?

The main spot is in the app. It is on the Settings tab labeled "Report a Problem". You can also send them using the touchscreen. I think (trying to remember) it is on the last page under Help "Send Logs". I pretty much always use the app...

So it's been quite a while since Ikea released their Tradfri smart lighting - is there any change in compatibility with the Almond+?
Has anyone been able to get either the bulbs or the gateway device working?

Thanks, it's great to have this topic
