Title: Linear WS15Z wall switch
Post by: thechadly on January 19, 2015, 06:23:48 pm
Just a regular on/off switch. Will it be supported?

It might already work if you try the new beta firmware.

Nope (Linear switches and dimmers do not work, neither do the Evolve switches and dimmers).

Did you remove and re-add them after updating the firmware?
They won't just magically start working after a firmware upgrade, as we still need to identify the sensors.
GE/Jasco is working.

I was able to get the WD500Z-1 Wall Mounted Dimmer to work with my Almond+ using the beta firmware.  However, the WT00Z-1 3-Way Accessory Wall Mount Dimmer/Switch did not.  The Almond+ stated it was an "unrecognized device".

I am using the beta software. I added the switch after I had already installed the software. It still says "Not Supported"

Fair enough, we're still working on adding support for more of these devices.
The tricky part here is that with Z-Wave devices, there are a lot of sub categories and we can't just guess which ones companies are using and sometimes they're using odd options that no-one else is using.
I've been pushing Sigma Designs, the company that owns the Z-Wave standard, to do a comprehensive database of all the certified devices so we can go in and look at what the differences are, but nothing has really happened, so the only option we have is to purchase the devices and test them to be able to add support for them.

With firmware R070,  I added three of these switches today. Almond+ joins them but  "unsupported device".  On the Almond LCD I can manually type 255 and it turns lights on. But these sensors  do not show up in web interface at all.

I know these Linear switches will be supported soon, and excited for that to happen... I'm ready!

Linear dimmers work just fine.

Any update when these Linear switches will start working with the Almond+?
