I didnt get the siren from the initial kickstarter add-on offer. Now it seems like they dont offer that same securifi siren, and the supported zigbee siren cant be found for sale either!
what's everyone else doing?

Building codes around here don't let me use and external "real" siren.
For interior I use the Utilitech from Lowes. It's a rebadged Everspring. The details are listed on the Wiki

I like the Utilitech because it is much less expensive than the Everspring which costs about $45 on Amazon versus the $29 for the Utilitech at Lowes.
Both (since they are the same thing, with the Utilitech being a re-badged version) have a Red Flashing Strobe and an adjustable decibel level. (via a jumper pin)
Details are in the Wiki.
And yes, if you hang this under an eave outside (not that I would endorse such a thing), it will get the attention of the neighbors.

The Kickstarter siren was never offered as it was kind of expensive and would only have worked in the US and Canada due to the fact it had to be screwed to the power socket. As such, it would only fit older type power sockets with a centre screw.
By now, the Philio multi-sound sirens should be supported as well, at least that was the plan before I left the company two months ago.

I picked up one of these GoControl kits with siren at HomeDepot and everything paired up and is working fine

Nice price for that bundle. $100 gets you 3 door/window sensors, 1 motion sensor and 1 siren.

I just bought this bundle and everything paired up fine but I have a problem with the siren. It was detected as a siren by A+ and I can trigger it on/off in all UI's but if I try to make a rule the siren is not on the list of sensors. I'd like to create a rule for the siren to go off when the door/window opens when it's on away mode. Is this specific siren not fully supported yet? It's useless right now as I can't create a rule for it.

@ rldreams:
I bought this set and although the siren paired easily I'm not seeing it when trying to make rule/s for it. I can see the siren device in all UI's but not when creating a rule for it. Is it working for you?
-
Don't know about the siren in the bundle. Was about to go buy one until I saw you both posting about a problem.
The Utilitech I posted above does show up in rules. No idea about the HD siren.
-
My siren paired and is showing fine. I have it set with rules and I can also just tap on it in and of the UIs and have it sound, or clear.
-
Thanks for your reply rldreams. I can set up the siren now with rules after removing and re-adding it.

One problem I'm having with the Home Depot kit is with the door sensors. I can add them as a door sensor (need to manually specify in the Almond+ UI), and they work fine at first. As soon as the tamper switch is triggered, they no longer seem to work properly. The tamper alert doesn't show up in the Almond+ sensor UI, and the Almond+ UI shows the wrong state. From that point forward, the Almond+ no longer seems to register state changes - even if I remove the switch and re-add it.
Anyone else have this problem? Any smart ideas? The documentation for the switch is nice and thorough and shows which signals it sends for state change, tamper trigger, etc.. I can post them if it is helpful.

I've had no problems with the d/w sensors . I did have a problem with the PIR not turning on/off lights, but it " fixed itself" after a few days. It would show motion in the app, but the lights would not trigger per the rules. So I assume it was a software issue on A+'s end and not the actual PIR.
-
Thanks for the info. For your d/w sensors, have you opened them since you first paired them? That is when I started having problems. As soon as the tamper switch is triggered they no longer seem to register open/closed with the A+ even after I unpair / and re-pair. The one sensor that I paired and mounted, but then didn't open again is functioning properly. Looking in the A+ interface, it doesn't seem to show the tamper status for these switches.
When I get a chance, I'll play around with the switch and send the A+ log info to Securifi to see if they can make sense of what it is doing.

My door sensors seem to be working fine now. They have pretty bad range though - probably because all my plugin sensors are Zigbee, so there aren't any repeaters throughout the house.
