Title: Smart Power Strip - SmartThings Version
Post by: fillibar on February 17, 2016, 05:05:45 pm
So I got my Smart Power Strip (SmartThings Version) that I backed on Kickstarter.

I did this back when it was a WIFI only, but they made a SmartThings version that allows control of 4 outlets... and it works with my Almond+!

I just got my power strip and within seconds was able to pair it with my Almond+. Now obviously the Almond+ does not have specific support for this device. Options were Binary Switch, Multi Switch, Other. I selected Multi Switch and it gives me the option of controlling two outlets (out of the 4 supposedly controllable via-SmartThings, and the 6 overall these strips have). Both of these work just fine! Even better, they report when the manual buttons are pressed on the strip, so you ALWAYS know when those two are on/off. Off reaction time is very quick. On time is a bit delayed (~30 seconds) so far. Which seems odd, but is still quite usable.

I am going to send the logs in case Securifi wants to try to control the other 2 outlets. But no matter what, this is a pleasant surprise.

@ fillibar,

It seems like as of now, we added support only for two outlets and hopefully, we may add support for more outlets.

Not a problem. Like I mentioned, I was very pleased that it paired to begin with and controlled an outlet, let alone 2.
