Do you have a pic of that compared to a regular sensor? The Securifi webpage makes it hard to compare sizes. Also, does it have an option to contact wires for the switch rather than the magnetic sensor ?

I would like to know also. It would be nice to have a Door/Window sensor with temperature AND an additional contact point for other switches. I have enough double window sets that I had to rearrange sensors for that feature.

I just noticed a mistake on the Securifi product page. In the description for compatibility it does not mention Almond 3 and also says about Peanut Plug not being compatible with the first Almond (that lacked ZigBee). While true... This is the Door/Window sensor listing.

Out of curiosity I checked the other accessories:
Peanut Plug does not mention Almond 3
Motion Detector is same as Door Sensor AND mentions when it detects water for automating actions (oops)
Flood Detector is same as Door Sensor

No external connections I could see. I have several photos to upload later for comparison sake.

The models I have seen always have it as an extra connector inside, and you are supposed to cut or breakaway the plastic (I drill a hole). A nice, two hole push-in connector (with releases inside) would be nice and unobtrusive.

You can always solder in a bypass to the reed switch, but that is not "another" connection, just replacing the existing.

I don't have any other Securifi Sensors to compare it to but I took a few photos with it next to a Quirky Tripper which it is very similar in size too and a Securifi Multipurpose Sensor. I'll attach a several photos but it'll take a few posts since there is a 4 photo limit per post. This also appears to be the fourth iteration of Securifi Door/window sensor (according the model number SZ-DWS04). Turns all my photos are too large so I'll need to reduce them before submitting.

Pretty darn small and not bad looking. Might be a replacement/add on for some doors in the future at our house.

My thoughts exactly. Also, its quite nice to have temp. I started installing the Smartthings Multipurpose Sensors as it reports temp as well (can't get anything but open/close and temp to work right now) so I could have a temp for each room when I install these on the windows / doors. Now I can consider these ones as well.

I have 3 temp reporting Door/Window sensors from other companies at the moment. Two are on exterior entries (a window and a door) and I find their temperatures just about useless. Even though we have decent efficiency windows and it is a sturdy garage door, they are very cold in winter. The 3rd though I put on an interior door for the master bedroom and it helps a lot because I use it as one of the triggers for our ceiling fan. It has proven pretty reliable.

These might work quite well for the other rooms like that.

I just got one, but I'm not getting a temperature reading with it. When connecting it to the Almond3 it is detected as a contact sensor. Is that what yours was detected as?

To be honest I didn't leave it on the Almond 3 long enough to check that. I haven't actually used it for anything yet I just paired it to test. I will pair again and let you know. Also, do you have the same model number? It looks like the images for the second version which is for sale on Amazon (which doesn't have temperature but they seem to be shipping 4th generation ones to purchasers now) or did it come with the Almond 3 pack?

It came with the 3 pack. I'm pretty sure it has the same model number that you posted. Will double check when I get home tomorrow.

@ Ohiomedic,

Ensure that the firmware is updated to the latest on Almond 3 and then remove and add it, if you are still not receiving the temperature reading then send us the log files.

Still not seeing the temp anywhere. Logs sent as door sensor no temp.

Reset it and while adding try to press the tampered button couple of times and if that also doesn't give the temperature reading then try to trigger the device while adding.

Triggering it while it was being added worked. Thanks guys, I didn't thing of it since it didn't need done for my other brand door sensor.

I've had to do it for several different brands recently. I don't if it is brand dependent or a change in the Almond+ (and now Almond 3) firmware.

It is reporting 68 degrees which was the temperature of my house when I added it. I'm using the sensor on a door that leads outside in my garage, which is about 10-15 degrees colder then my house. Any idea why it's not updating?

Can you check the history of the device? Is it showing no updates/ changes under that?

After opening and closing the door a couple of times in the morning it had updated, then updated again a few hours later. It has been about 7 hours since the last reported state change in the app. Looking at it right now it seems to be within 2 degrees of my other sensor I have out there to test with. The current difference makes sense due to placement. Maybe it just took some open and close cycles to get it working.

Strange, mine isn't having those issues, I can check history and see any changes within fractions of a degree.

I'll have to try readding mine again then, I don't see the temp in the history in the iOS app. It says state changed.
