MyDigitalDiscount has a deal on the MCT-340E. These are small and work well. The temperature is also useful and I have found them pretty accurate.
I have not bought anything from this site before though. So good price on a ZigBee sensor but no idea about the seller. Deal is supposed to be limited in quantity.

Does this report temperature for you? Mine does not
-
Yes. Mine report temperature no problem.
On my Almond+ originally and now on the Almond 3.

I purchased 2 through this website as they are still on sale, got them within 3 days. Paired right up to my A3. They how ever don't show temperature status for me
-
Did you check under "View Device History"? I have seen a few sensors that for the time being only show it there.
-
Mine show temp in the main section. Try removing and pairing them again. Some sensors also need to extra signaling while pairing (moving the magnet so it open/closes repeatedly or pushing the tamper button or such). I cannot remember about these because I paired them so long ago.

I tried repairing them. Opening and closing upon pairing does indeed show the temperature once it's paired. Is there a way to change the door icon in the app to a window? Is there a window icon? I seen this thread and jumped on these as being door sensors. ... I have a zwave dongle and have a few ge zwave switches so I have been looking at z wave sensors as well. Trying to go the least exspensive way as possible. Any suggestion would be appreciated!

There is not a way to switch the icon. Maybe write that as a new post in the Ideas section, because it sounds good. Especially if there were a variety of icons you could select or maybe select different icons for different states.
As for building up devices... I have quite a few, but most have been bought on sale/clearance or eBay. Only a couple devices have ever been full price.
Now that you have me thinking about it... I really should do an inventory.

I second the sale / clearance and ebay route. Very few of my sensors were bought brand new outta the gate, many that I did I have had to hold and wait for support any ways. For this reason I also have several different brands / models doing the same jobs i.e. many different door / window sensors.
