Just received this update this morning. Here are my VERY early impressions:
- Android App Version: V0.3.15b
- Almond+ Version: R070
- All door sensors (2 installed) were flagged as tampered. Don't know positively if this was the app, or a fluke.
- I set the notification level for "Door to Garage" and shortly thereafter I received a notification that "Workbench Light" was closed. I checked the app, and the "Door to Garage" was renamed to "Workbench Light" which happens to be the next item in the list of sensors. I renamed back, and the name has stuck so far.
- First few tests seem to be working well.
Again, this is a VERY early impression, but just wanted to get it out there.
-
Just posting more results.
Have received a couple of random "status changed" messages over the past few hours for one of my sensors that hasn't actually changed. Not sure if this is due to a "low battery", but I have been getting the alerts when nothing has changed.
-
Mine has 'updated' me every 59 minutes today, with no status change. willing to put up with this, as the actual push from actual events is working great!
-
Thanks for the heads up that the app was updated!
So far for me, it looks like every hour I'm getting notifications from two door/window sensors that I set to notify. I'm thinking that the sensors themselves send a keep alive or watchdog signal every hour and the notifications are just signaling because the sensors have communicated?
I'm not sure what the 'away' option is quite yet either - as in, how does it know when I'm away?
-
In the top-right corner of the app is an icon of a house, if you tap that, it changes into a house with a person leaving. That's how you set that you're away.
Depending on the settings of your sensor (home/away/always) you will get notifications on your phone.
-
Interesting. I only have a bell icon in the top right corner of the app.
-
Are you sure you're using the latest beta version then?? Did you install it manually through the apk-file? Or did you install from Play store?
-
I have been wondering that as well (re Away).
I'm getting the hourly updates/notifications for one of my door sensors (the one with the low battery) but not the other.
The sensor with the low battery, the one that I'm receiving the hourly updates from, is the original Zigbee sensor that I received with my Almond.
The one that is behaving as I would expect is an Ecolink Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor (DWZWAVE2-ECO).
Don't know if the issues is from the models and how they work, the battery, or Z-wave vs Zigbee.
Something else that might be of note is that the Zigbee sensor would consistently report an inaccurate status when it was placed further away, however the Z-wave one works fine at that distance. Granted, I have more Z-wave devices, so that would help with the distance aspect though.

I installed the update from the Play store. Should I do it manually instead?
-
I updated my app through the Play Store. According to the Android App Info, I'm on version 0.3.15b.
I have only a bell in the top right corner of the Sensor and Router screens. Tapping on that takes me to the notification Logs with a cloud with 3 dots inside.
I am unable to find a house icon.
-
OK, the cloud/dots is showing that I wasn't connected to the cloud server, which seems odd that it was only on the notifications screen.
Killed the app and restarted it, and the cloud went away, but still no house or any other icon in the top right on the notifications screen.

Unfortunately, that link is Off Limits for me.

:P same message for me when I click on the link. I'm sure things will get ironed out eventually though so I'll just see what happens
-
Ah, OK, didn't know that. I thought the beta available for everyone by now...
You'll have to wait till they release it then :)
-
Guys, please update your firmware via the LCD to R070as, it should fix some of the issues. I'm at MWC in Barcelona this week, hence the lack of info about this. Sorry :-[
-
With regards to the app, it's available through Google play, but they don't always roll out updates at the same time to everyone. Please check Google play for updates.

Updated and all seems to be working well.
Hoping that the app will 'know' whether I'm home or away on its own in the near future.
Regardless, I'm enjoying the progress lately. Thank you Securifi!

Oh yes i am VERY excited about that possibility, however this has been damped somewhat by this comment by Amritendu

Who seems to imply that logic of what device is connected to the router will *never* be used, which is a huge missed opportunity :(

Please ignore his comment, he's part of the support team and doesn't have a full insight on how things work. This should be possible and it's something that has already been discussed.

Glad to hear it.
Thanks for all that you do Lars.

Okay updated everything last night. Android to 0.3.15b , peanut firmware to whatever that update is ,and A+ to R070as. Now I can't control peanut through app at all, but it works fine via LCD and web UIs.
Peanut was showing as "unsupported device" in app, but logging out of app ,rebooting router, then power cycling peanut then logging back in to app fixed that. I still can not do anything via the app though.
I uninstalled and did a clean install of the app on both phone and tablet . They still are not showing proper status and any attempt yo turn lights on/off just sits and spins at "updating sensor data" but doesn't actually turn off/on. Peanut is back to showing as unsupported device.
I have resorted to using the web UI via the browser to turn lights off/on.
-
You need to remove and reset them and add them again. Forgot to mention this, but they've changed the device type. This is so we can do firmware updates OTA once we're ready with the firmware for the plug that will support power monitoring.

I did remove and re-add the peanut, that was how I discovered and updated the peanut firmware. Which led to updating the app and A+ FW. Are you saying I need to remove and re-add all the sensors to have them work with the updated app ?
-
No, not if you already did that. Not sure what's going on, but I've asked the software team, so let's see what they say.
-
Well ,I don't know what they did, but everything is suddenly back working as it should. So thanks.

One thing that being notified 3x an hour by my 3 sensors that nothings changed (lol) has let me see quite clearly, is that the app could do with a small tweak!
Neither the android app's notification, nor the corresponding android wear one, mention very clearly the event!

So every time the sensor pushes the notification (which is awesome) i have to open the phone to view the logs, which look most often like this
http://imgur.com/q2PLr2C.jpg (http://imgur.com/q2PLr2C.jpg)
the Android Wear integration for your app is limited to 'dismiss' or 'open on phone', so I can't tell if a door has been opened without opening my phone and the app and checking.
even if the Wear integration goes no further, having the state appear in the notification, rather than "Front Door's value Changed at 12:06" I'd much rather "Front Door Closed: 12:06" or "Front Door Open: 12:06", so allow me to either dismiss or take action without needing to query the app for state.
Obviously this becomes less important if the false reports are eliminated!
Apologies if this falls into pedantic rather than constructive feedback.
-
Not pedantic at all, but keep in mind that this is the first release with notifications, so there's plenty things to be done still.
-

Which firmware are you using, because I saw from the screenshot that you are getting notifications every 1 hour for battery operated devices. Motion Sensor, Door Sensor are giving its state information even though nothing changed.
We fixed this in the latest firmware 70as, you wont receive unwanted notifications in this, hopefully not. If you are already using 70as, then there is a bug, please send logs.
-
No connection at all with the app this morning. Is it an app problem or is the "cloud" down?

I'm guessing it's a cloud thing as I can't get logged into https://connect.securifi.com/ either.

I just wanted to add my desire to w0b's request. I get the notifications on my Pebble watch, with the same issue. All I see is 'value changed'. I don't care that the value changed, I care what the value changed *to*.
So, a +1 for this feature request from me.

You're totally right, i didn't have a chance to update until last night, the hourly notifications have stopped, and it's working great.
It makes it much less important for me, but still, as rpr69 said, it would be nice to get the info inside the notification (eventually) :)
-
Notifications have stopped since 3rd April, I no longer get anything, and there's nothing in the logs (in the app).
If i look at the app, the sensor values are correct, and react as fast as usual, but the app never notifies.
Just me?

Same here, although mine stopped yesterday morning. I'm assuming that it's cloud related, but wasn't sure.
-
Same here. No notifications.
-
Sorry for the inconvenience, we identified the problem.
Notifications will work from tomorrow.
-
Mine haven't worked since March 5th. Still not working as of today, April 9th.
-
I can confirm that my notifications ARE WORKING again as of this morning.

If they haven't worked for that long, I'm guessing you have a different issue. Maybe try rebooting router and phone, and turning notifications on and off.

Are the sensors updating their status on the app? Please give me your emailID with which you signed up, I will look into the problem.
-
At the moment I'm running 70asBeta (also 70R). I just opened Almond+ app and all of my lamp Notify Me settings were back to Off. Is that a known issue with <72R ? I'm going to upgrade now.
-

Most likely something else. The router has been rebooted at least a half dozen times since then, including at least 3 firmware upgrades.

Yes sensors are updating in the app. PM on the way.
Thanks.
-
My notifications suddenly stopped and nothing i do seems to resolve this
The sensors display status correctly on my Nexus phone but no notifications are being received.
Am using an Almond + .Also the Aeotec door sensor works fine but MultiSensor only senses motion.
-
Notification Worker had a problem, we are diagnosing it. let you know it is fixed.
-
Notification Worker is back up now, You should receive them, let me know if you still see the problem
-
Did Securifi roll your own for a sensor data collection and notification server package, or use an open source solution? If the latter, which?
-
Notifications on my phone suddenly restarted so I am guessing it was a server issue..

It's an in-house solution.
