Title: Linear GD00Z-4 Garage Door opener
Post by: Sange on May 23, 2015, 11:19:17 pm
I got a Linear GD00Z-4 Garage door opener, and after this last router update my router can open and close my garage door, BUT the app on my phone still says unsupported device, even thought the router clearly sees it and can open and close it. Is there something else I need to update on the phone app?

@ d.kiran,

I don't have any ETA on when this would be added to Rules, it may take some time.

Any update on this Ashok? I can use the sensor on my android app and the almond ui,but the Web ui it isn't supported or in the rules which kind of defeats the purpose

Just installed the Linear GD00Z-4 Garage Door Opener. The router and the iOS app are correctly reading the open/close state from the tilt sensor, but I am unable to Open/Close the door thru the app or the router. I thought it was supposed to work thru the router.

nope not as of yet...still have my fingers crossed for the next update. I am really wanting the rules engine to support it so I can have my garage door automatically close at a set time at night. My wife gets mad when I leave it open all night ;-)

@ chad.siegmann,

Hopefully, the next update would take care of this issue.

Just to confirm. Can anyone open or close their garage door at all (with any Almond interface,). I just returned my GD00Z because I thought it wasn't working.

for me none of the interfaces worked.. nothing happens.. it says device is stopped in all interfaces.. so I assume it is not trying.

As long as the Tilt sensor is in the correct position, it would work fine. Please check, if the Tilt sensor is positioned in the right direction.

Tilt sensor totally works correctly on iOS app. (Not on other UI). My issue was opening and closing. I could not tell if unit is defective or working properly as I was unable to open or close via any interface.

Can someone do me a favor? Can you please post a screenshot of how this garage door opener looks on the WebUI and the iOS ? I want to see if it is a better option than my hacked together solution.

It is not about tgectilt sensor for 4 me.. on v80 it says unknown device after registration and stopped.

Got it working with v80
..unenroll it first even if it finds
The device it was partially enrolled
Or something
Also keep the tilt sensor right next to it
While enrolling. Didn't think it mattered
And didn't say it did in the directions

I had already mounted it on the door.
Apparently it needs to be close while
You enroll the device.

the  device is not fully supported as it does not show up in the rule list. ANy plans to support it in the rules as I wanted to write one that would close the garage door if left open after midnight.. thanks

Are you able to open or close the door with the GD00Z-4?

Rickcdc,

I have the GD00Z-4 and I can open and close the door.

The state of the tilt sensor does not work right with the Almond+.

The door does opens and closes fine, but the state of the door gets incorrect....

1) If you manually actuate the door, the Almond+ never updates open/close status
2) When I use the LCD or Android app to open/close the door does it, but I "Could not update status" on the LCD or App and the status of the door is never updated.

It took some work, but it works like a charm in SmartThings.

@spooky123 has this improved at all since the v83 firmware update? The Garage Door Opener profile is now supported.

@scotty - Yes, after update to R83, I re-added the GD00Z-4 and via the android app the status now reflects correct state of the door (open/closed).

I should say though that the Android app still flashes "could not update status" same as it did before except now the status does actually reflect reality.

So I had it working great for a while now, but then almond app and router couldn't update the sensor (door won't open) so I tried resetting etc, and now it won't pair, like I hit the pair button, and the router sees it but won't add it just sits and does nothing.

When I press the button on the opener it beeps once, then pauses then beeps three times quickly, does anyone know what this means?

@ Sange,

Most probably the sensor might not have removed properly. First try to follow the removal process on the sensor by making sure we tap on Single Remove (Not Removal All) under Add sensors then try adding it.

I just installed the Linear GD00Z-1 Garage Door opener (Iris model) tonight and it seems to work great with the latest Almond+ firmware.

Ya I did the removal so it no longer see the opener on my almond, and I followed the instructions on the opener to remove, and still having same issue

Got one brand new in box for sale. $50 shipped. Bought for parents but they have no interest in automation.

Yikes not sure exactly what is going on, and some of this is probably voodoo, but these steps generally seem to work with most people for the initial pairing:

1. Perform a device factory reset before pairing by pressing the include button on the GD00Z 5 times.
2. Place the GD00Z controller within 5 feet of the Almond+
3. Place the tilt sensor within 10 feet of the GD00Z controller
4. Pair with GD00Z with a quick momentary press of the include button on the GD00Z (not the one second press described in the manual).

Fingers crossed.
