Title: Hello from Cupertino
Post by: sieler on August 22, 2015, 12:22:50 am
No, I don't work for Apple :)

I got my Almond+ via KickStarter, and it arrived while I was moving my office ... so it went into a box and was forgotten.

I found it today and set it up ... got the firmware to R80 with the help of Mirza (for some reason, accessing the admin URL wasn't working
correctly until we did a hard reset of the device).

But ... I want to port a lot of my utility programs to it, so I'm looking for a gcc compiler (and the system "include" files) ...
so I can compile them on the Almond+.  (Yes, I want a gcc compiler that runs *on* the Almond.)
(Yes, I know, there's nearly no disk space ... so I'd put it on a USB flash drive :)

I know the device is slow ... but so are a lot of tiny computers I've ported my programs to (D-Link 321, Guru Plug, Sheeva Plug, Udoo, Raspberry Pi, and some others).

thanks,

Stan

Welcome and hello.

Wow... SheevaPlug and GuruPlug... I recently dug mine out and ended up getting rid of them (my GuruPlug was one of the first and suffered from massive overheating originally). Either way not a lot of people seem to have/had those.
