Title: NTP sync
Post by: Woodsman on July 10, 2015, 07:45:34 am
Set up my Almond 2015 to turn a lamp on at 6 am
another rule to turn off at 8 am
another rule for on at 5:00 pm
a 4th rule of off at 10:30 pm.

Didn't work.

Called Almond Support and found that to get it to work I had to first sync the almond with NTP which either synced it an hour ahead of my time.  (I am near a time zone line)  or synced it to Somoan time which was several hours off.

Then I had to sync with host twice to get the almond to correct time.

I found that this made the lamps work correctly but every time the Almond resyncs with NTP I have to redo the above.

I can set the time in hours for the Almond to resync with NTP but the maximum I can set is 300 hours which is about
12 days.

That means the rules will quit working every twelve days unless I go through the resync process again.

Interesting thing is that without the resyncing the lamps do not come on at all.   I would have assumed that they would
just come on at the wrong time.

Yes, I tried resetting the time zone, but every time I do it soon reverts to Somoan time.

Anyone have any experience with this or comments?  Thanks.

@ Woodsman,

We were able to replicate the same issue at our end, and I have already reported this to our team to work on it. If possible could you please ping me your exact location to ashok.kumar@securifi.com
