Hello group. I just got my Almond 2015. I've spent a few hours clicking around in the unit via the touchscreen, web, and iOS. It seems not all features are available on each platform, which is understandable. However, I can not find how to interact with the USB port. Am I just overlooking it? Also, I can't related info in this forum or any where on the i-net.
Thanks Max

@ maxtmon,
Login to the Web UI-->Advanced-->FTP-->Enable it. However, please note that it works only in Router mode.

Thank you for the reply. I made that setting change and I am in router mode. However, I haven't got it to respond. I've ran a port scan and it only shows 80 and 23 as open ports, no 21. Still looking for further clarification. Are there other setting in the Firewall or rules that need to be setup?

@ maxtmon,
If you are trying to access it from outside the network then I am sorry to say that, it won't work for now.

I'm trying to access it within my own network. I've used my browser by going to ftp://192.168.2.2. This is the same assigned ip as the router. I've also tried via mapping it. I've been able to Telnet into the router, although not make any changes since I have yet to go root.
I've found a video on YouTube showing how to set it up. It was easy enough, the same as described above. But I've yet to gain access via ftp.
I'll keep at it when I have time. I may switch to another USB drive.

@ maxtmon,
The IP address what you are typing doesn't seem like Almond 2015 is in Router mode, are we positive that Almond 2015 is being used as Router not as Range Extender or Access point?

The USB port is non-functional range extender/Repeater mode?

Yes, it works only in Router mode for now.

I don't understand what the USB port is used for. Could someone please explain it to me?

The USB connection offers the user the opportunity to create a Network Drive or Network Storage Device via FTP or SAMBA on the LAN.

Thank you sir
Forgot to mention you can attach printers to the USB port as well.
The below link is for the Almond+, not sure if the same applies to the Almond 2015. Worth checking.

Is the USB still only functional in Router mode? It can't act as a print server in repeater mode?

@ matt,
Please check your pm for the instructions, which may work. USB would work in all the modes with our next firmware, even now it would work but you got to access a different page to enable it.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try soon.
