Title: Hello from a backer in the SF Bay Area!
Post by: wj on August 07, 2013, 01:38:29 am
Looking forward to a solid Wi-Fi access point more so than an actual router, but most of all looking forward to playing with the 802.15.4 radio (I posted separately about that in the Home Automation section). I have a lot of 802.15.4 radios but interestingly enough 0 Z-Wave / ZigBee devices in the house. :)

Good thing the Almond+ will be able to be set up as an AP then, just like the Almond can right now.

Welcome to the forum wj!

A few years ago I did some wireless stuff there.  Interesting little project.

That said I can't remember but have fond memories of eating at some restaurant by the airport which was on a little island of sorts with some great views.  Spent some days there but mostly just worked nights (3 all nighters actually).

Interesting! The second I read "restaurant by the airport" I thought of the Elephant Bar, but that's not really on an island, but it has a really nice view of the bay. Probably not that one, not too familiar with that area. But islands of sorts you have quite a few in Foster City, but that's all "engineered" land anyway (i.e landfill).. :)

Thanks wj

Yup; it seemed almost a round restaurant / bar.
