Title: USB Harddrive When Using Almond as a Range Extender
Post by: D_man97 on December 31, 2019, 02:46:21 pm
Should I be able to access a USB hard drive connected to my almond+ when I use it as a range extender?  I followed the directions here: https://wiki.securifi.com/index.php?title=Network_storage_-_Almond%2B_2014 to enable FTP and SAMBA but I cannot see the drive on my Windows 10 PC.

I found that the USB drive can be seen if I enable SMB1 in Windows 10.  I understand there are security vulnerabilities if I leave SMB1 enabled.  Am I accessing the drives correctly, from the research I have found is I need to FTP to the drives.  This is what I am doing:

Right click on This PC
Click Map network drive
In the folder field I enter \\192.168.X.X\ click browse and select the usb drive.

Is this the proper procedure and is there any way to use the usb dive with my almond+ without enabling SMB 1.0?
