Lowe's is getting rid of all the GE/Jasco Z-wave stuff. So far, I've been able to score a bunch of the 3-way 2-packs (3-way switch + aux switch) that are LED compatible for $9-$12 per pack. Also got an outdoor switch for $12.50. They have an in-wall dimmer for about $10, but it's for incandescents.
Stock is dwindling; I think this clearance has been going on all of December.

Yeah... my local Lowes was wiped out previously. I managed to snag 3 GE outdoor outlets at a good price, but nothing else. Their HA section is pretty barren now. I hope that means more is coming in soon.

I wish I knew the product introduction cycle for this type of stuff. That would give a good idea when the stores would put things on clearance to clear out the old models. Anyone from Securifi know that from an industry perspective?

Umm... We are talking about GE Z-Wave items, not the Securifi products. Not sure if I should kick this over to a new topic or one of the complaint threads. What do you think? Either way it is very off topic.

I'm still seeing stuff on clearance, just not the GE switches.
The Linear garage door switch has been discounted for a few months and has dropped to about $60 (I'm still holding out for Chamberlain MyQ integration... C'mon, Securifi!). There was also a Zigbee battery powered thermostat, but I can't remember the model. Wasn't one I've seen before.
EDIT: the thermostat is a GoControl at $70

My Lowe's has let their HA section be a wasteland. Almost always near empty and no sign they have restocked it. The do have a couple other types of products on end caps, but they are all Bluetooth based smartphone products.

That sucks. All the Lowe's I've been in lately carry the new Zigbee Iris sensors, some of the NYCE sensors like the door hinges and others.

I need to change my Garage door opener and all the belt drive ones that are available for a good price don't work with any z-wave device. Slighlty off-topic, but does anyone know of a good quiet belt drive garage opener that works with this Z-wave controller?

I suppose you could add on the Linear opener in parallel to most any setup. I like the Chamberlain so far, but am still hoping for the MyQ integration with the A+.

Unfortunately, that's not the case. It is pretty much not compatible with any recent Chamberlain/LiftMaster/Craftsman. http://www.nortekcontrol.com/info/Linear-GD00Z-Product-Compatibility-Notice.pdf

If you are ok with a little bodging, you can Z-Wave enable any garage door opener that has a doorbell/on-off type switch (all the ones I've encountered have it) by using a z-wave wall switch, a 120AC to 12V DC power brick, and a 12V automotive relay. I don't have a diagram, but essentially you wire the power brick to trip the relay, connect the relay outputs to the garage door opener switch, and then plug the power brick into the wall switch. You can then toggle the garage door opener switch with the z-wave power switch. Of course, I make no guarantees that you won't burn your house or garage down using this method, so proceed at your own risk!
