Title: Update to list of sensors?
Post by: mparadis on December 10, 2016, 11:50:55 am
All, wondering if we should update the list of working sensors OR perhaps whenever someone finds a new working device we can make a new post. I would argue a new post would be cleaner because it would be searchable more easily and could have comments / replies etc. The current list is very limited although a lot of information works with it. At a minimum it should include Brand, Model Name, Model Number and what Almonds it works with.

I would recommend the following:

Subject: Brand and Device Name (Model Number)

Then in the body of the post:

Brand:                                                  Securifi
Model Name:                                      Door and Window Sensor
Model Number:                                   SZ-DWS04
What units it works with:                     Almond+, Almond 2015, Almond 3
Protocol: (Zigbee, Z Wave, Wifi)          Zigbee
What functions work / don't work:      Temperature and Open / Close working
What Batteries / Power Supply:           2032, included
Purchase Location:                               Included with Almond 3 3 pack
Price Paid: Approximate Okay             Included with Almond 3 3 pack
Notes, Comments or Limitations:        Trigger sensor while pairing (not necessary with this device though), mounting hardware included
Photo(s) of item
Photo of the manual so people can easily see reset information, etc.

What are your thoughts?

Also, I attempted to make the above list Copy Paste compatible but I couldn't but you can "quote" it and type the info in that way. I couldn't format a nice table either but I did my best.
With this the most photos that can be included in one post are 4. So consider that when adding photos.

Great idea.

I would change the field "What functions work / don't work" to "What functions work". I think it's more clear. If you want to document knows issues, I would use another field.
