Title: ECOLINK Z-Wave Garage Door Tilt Sensor
Post by: govee on August 11, 2014, 07:41:11 am
I have one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HGVJRX2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HGVJRX2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

It will join and you get an option of 4 different types of switch but none is tilt sensor. I have used all 4 different options and the A+ never registers a changed state. I do however see the display on the A+ when the device is tilted, just no change to the indicated state.

This is a warning on the listing;
"WARNING ! Users of IRIS, Honeywell, go!control or any quasi z-wave controllers please contact your dealer prior purchasing this sensor. In most cases these controllers doesn't support current z-wave libraries and new z-wave devices."

does the A+ Z-Wave firmware need updated?

Fixed your URL above.

I'll have to check and see if we have support for that, as I'm not sure if we do.
We have a new firmware coming, hopefully this week, but again, I'm not sure if that sensor will be supported or not.

I have the same sensor and the same issue as the original poster. it seems to effect other types of ecolink devices from some of the posts i have seen. I got the device on amazon. When you tilt sensor it flashes, but there is no change recorded on the almond+

I also have the same issue with the exact same product.

Hopefully the team at Securifi can provide a firmware update soon that will address this problem.

Securifi, what's the plan to have a firmware update for this sensor? Thanks

Disregard my previous comment. The new firmware R066 fixed the issue and I can confirm that it's working for me.

Just a confirmation of what others are reporting: I only recently finally set up my Almond+ and updated to firmware R66 before I tried anything.

The first sensor I tried was the Ecolink Garage Door Tilt Sensor. It worked right away, but occasionally the reading does not change (on both the Almond+ and the iOs app) when I open or close the door. Usually cycling the door again causes the correct state to appear. I wonder if anyone else has seen this? This inconsistency makes it impossible to fully trust the reading I'm getting.

I have had the same inconsistency with this sensor.

I've brought this up with the software team, not specifically for this sensor, but we have a few others that behave in a similarly poor way, for example the door locks and I've made it clear to them that we need to fix this before we start adding support for any other sensors.
