Title: Throughput issues in 802.11ac mode?
Post by: reedog117 on August 18, 2014, 11:04:43 pm
I'm trying to pinpoint issues streaming HD video between TiVo's connected to different 802.11ac bridges (Linksys WUMC710).  I know that the bridges and the two wireless connections aren't the problem, since this used to work flawlessly with a Linksys E4200v1 802.11n router running Tomato (shibby build).

What seems to happen is that streaming (which requires somewhere between 100-150 Mbps) seems to work fine for a few minutes, but then for some reason throughput decreases and then the TiVo fails saying that there was a lost connection.

One WUMC710 is connected to the Almond+ at 1170Mbps and the other at 1300Mbps.

This used to work flawlessly with my old router when each bridge was connected at 405Mbps.

Not sure what the issue is.  I tried looking at the realtime traffic graphs after fixing the conf file to fix the svg bug, but they do not seem to dynamically update every few seconds.

Did you guys come to a resolution on this? I am having issues with my router dropping the throughput every 30-45 seconds, and then running fine. This happens on two different Windows 8 devices, and both devices run fine when using my Verizon 4G hotspot from my phone. Any help would be appreciated, and I am not an expert of routers or networks.

Thanks much.

We have a new firmware coming that will incorporate a new Wi-Fi driver that should fix these issues.
