Just got my Almond+ yesterday (yay!). Connected up a few sensors and verified that they are working and controlled by the Almond+ (cloud GUI and device web GUI). Everything looks peachy.
Now, I'm just wondering how I go about "automating" some stuff. That's why I bought a home automation box after all...
Do I need to wait around for someone to develop an app to run on this thing, or is there some way to just set up a simple if/then association? I'm not looking to do anything too complex - just turn on some lights when someone opens a door. Please tell me there is a simpler way to do this than having to download the SDK and start hacking some C code. I don't mind writing some python or something, but the SDK looks a bit daunting.
Thanks,
Phil

Those features are not yet available in the firmware, but from statements made by Securifi they hope to have a firmware out by the end of September with more automation support. Right now it's limited to just enabling/disabling sensors and detecting states of other sensors. I know it might suck a bit, but they're doing really well at releasing updates and notifying people, so follow their updates on the forums and Kickstarter and you should find out when they add the features you want!

As pointed out, we're a bit behind here, but it's coming.
Initially the automation will be done on the Almond+ through the local web UI and we'll be adding notifications for the mobile apps as well.
It should all be pretty straightforward to use once we're done, it's just a shame we couldn't ship the Almond+ with all the features in place.

Just out of curiosity - are you planning to support IFTTT, i.e. introduce some kind of securifi A+ pass-through channel? Also, with the September firmware updates are you introducing the basic if-then or complete scene support? With eventual scene support, will it be only per protocol, i.e. zwave to zwave only, or would zigbee sensors (e.g. zigbee via bt proximity) be able to trigger zwave actuators (e.g. zwave schlage locks)?
Thanks,
Andy

I too would like an IFTTT channel.

I am very much interested...and disappointed that it is still not available. :-[

This is great to hear that it's coming. I don't mind being early and testing and trying things out as long as the end point is where I want it to head. Again Great to hear!!!

I honestly don't know how complete the automation that we'll deliver next month will be, but once I have an internal build, I'll share some more details.
It's a shame we couldn't ship with this working, but it's not something that's being thrown together in five minutes either.
I've seen the UI they're working on and it's something really quite unique if it turns out to be anything like what I've seen.

I am also interested in cross protocol bridging, say z-wave to zigbee. There is currently a lack of wall mounted zigbee controllers, so I could use z-wave controllers to trigger zigbee events without the need for a pc running fulltime.

We already support bridging between Z-Wave and ZigBee, so this is not an issue.
