Title: Can't print from Wi-Fi connected Mac
Post by: RobLewis on August 25, 2014, 01:05:17 pm
What could be preventing my wife's MacBook Pro from printing to a LaserWriter attached to my wired LAN?

If she changes her Wi-Fi connection to a different access point on the same network, printing works normally.

Some other people have had issues with printing as well. I believe that Securifi is looking into the issue.

Is your Almond+ running in Access Point mode? If so, packets may be getting mangled preventing you from printing.

It is configured as a router (DSL to its WAN port, LAN ports & Wi-Fi to local machines & switches). Why would use as an access point garble packets?

I just noticed that I can't print anymore from a wired Windows 8.1 box to a wired Samsung SCX-4729FD/XAA laser printer. I can see it has an IP but I cannot access it now.

Hi Rob,

Thank you for all the inputs you have given. We are trying to debug the problem. To understand the problem further and to make progress in debugging, can you please answer the following?

1. Are you able to ping to the network printer from your MAC/PC?
2. Did you see the same behavior with both 2.4 and 5Ghz radios?
3. In Web UI, please go to Network--->WiFi--->Wireless page(you will have a separate page for each radio)---->Advanced Settings and please check if "Enable Wireless Client Isolation" is turned-on by chance. Please check this on both radios
4. Please let us know the model of the printer

Appreciate your inputs and please bear with us. We will definitely resolve the issue.

Funny thing with my case. I was messing with the printer itself going through the settings to make sure it was all still OK and I noticed that it supported IPv6 but it was disabled. I turned it on and every since then I can access and print to my printer from all my PCs using the IPv6 address but not the IPv4 address.
