Title: Everspring ST815 & ST814 Sensors
Post by: kaihansen79 on August 26, 2014, 08:33:12 am
Hi,

I bought both the Everspring Illuminance and Temp/Humidity sensors, without noticing the comments in the wiki stating "Doesn't automatically send values, press Esc button three times to update values." Womp. Womp.  :-\

It seems to me from limited research that other ZWave controllers are able to configure these sensors to do auto reporting. Will the ability to do this be available through the Almond+ GUI or Web Interface in the future?

Thanks!

The problem is that we haven't managed to figure out how, as all other sensors we've tested automatically updates their status as a pre-set interval, but these do not.
I'll chase Everspring about this, but it hasn't really been that urgent, since no-one had these sensors until now  :P

They do update on a regular status if you can configure the Z-Wave radio to do so, right? I'm not sure on this but just going off of what's in the device manuals under the "Z-Wave's Configuration" section, and some online sources that show a GUI for other controllers that can configure the params for those settings.

the device wake-up at constant time setted, i think when Almond+ see the wake-up need to query the device.. could be a simple and fast solution that work with any device like this one

I am interested in buying a couple of these if they can be consistently read by the Almond+

I am interested too, unless someone knows of another sub $50 sensor for temperature and humidity.

I would be very interested too in this sensor. Is there any news on this topic with the new beta firmware 0.69cb?

We will not be working on supporting either of these sensor beyond the basic support that's already there as Everspring had refused to help us solve the issues with the reporting and they've both been added to the list of unsupported devices.
