Title: Almond+ Dead, powered off, will not power up
Post by: SecureComp on August 30, 2014, 12:52:17 am
Have been using my Almond+ since the day I received it about 2 weeks ago.

Has been working just as expected, until tonight when I got home and it was dead.

Powered off.
And would not power on.

Will test power supply in the morning.

And yes, it was plugged into a battery backup. (APC BackupUPS)
No storms in the area or loss of power at the house.

I did disconnect the power supply, wait and reconnected it. No joy.

Ok, let us know if it's the power adapter that failed, or something else.
Don't fret though, we'll replace whatever has broken.

Appreciate that.

This morning, everything powered On just fine.  ;D

Reminds me of a classic overheating protection circuit situation but I have no evidence of that.  Not to mention it has been running fine for almost 3 weeks.  The Almond+ was mounted vertically on a shelf. No temp issues with any other equipment.

Will check the logs and see if I can find anything.

Are there any CPU temp monitoring stats available?

Have also noticed a few threads about something that appears similar, unexpected shutdowns. Add me to that list.

Again, appreciate you standing by the product. 8)

Hmmm, that's really odd, well, keep us posted if it happens again.

Booted up in stand alone mode (no internet connection on WAN port)

Checked all logs, everything was zero'd out. Meaning no historical data.

Date was setup back to April 4.

Going ahead with reinstall as primary router and will leave it in place, see what happens.
