So, I'm fairly new with wireless networks. I have my primary router (Belkin) and am using the Almond+ as a repeater. I've mounted a drive to the Almond+ and turned on Samba and FTP. However, I have no idea how to access the drive remotely. I can connect to it while I'm at home, and I know how to find the WAN IP for my Belkin, but am not sure of the steps to connect my drive. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try these directions? http://wiki.securifi.com/index.php?title=Network_storage_-_Almond%2B_2014 (http://wiki.securifi.com/index.php?title=Network_storage_-_Almond%2B_2014)

Those directions are for local network access (have to be connected to the router). I want to access the drive when I'm nowhere near the router, similar to how you would connect to Dropbox. I have an app on my phone that I can connect to remote servers, but I can't figure out what address to connect to (when I'm not on the local network). For my primary router, I know the WAN address, but not the Almond+.

You'll have to set up a port forward in your main router to redirect the ports to the Almond+ or you won't be able to get further than to your main router.

You know which ports?

Normally it's 21 for FTP.
Samba is a bit more complex, as it looks like you need to forward 137, 139 and 445, but I'm not sure that's enough.

Thank you Lars. I'll give it a shot later and let you know how it works out.
