I have comcast blast service (100 down/10 up) and before the Almond+ I was using an Airport Extreme (3rd gen, 802.11b/g/n model). Since I've been having the issue of corrupt packets, I hooked it back up. What a difference:
Connected via 802.11n, 2.4ghz mode
Almond+, latest fw R66:
1.2gb file, ~20min to download
Apple Airport Extreme:
1.2gb file, ~6min to download
Issue of corrupt packets withstanding, why such a dramatic difference??
EDIT: Strange, just switched the almond+ to 5ghz: 2.1GB file took about ~6-7min.

@jef152, its not unusual at all that 5GHz network would have higher speeds compared to the 2.4 GHz network. What's unusual is the difference in time required to download a same size file on 2.4 GHz network on Almond+ and Airport extreme. All I can possibly think of is a channel interference or difference in link speed at that point of time. Would recommend a couple of more downloads on the 2.4 GHz network for Almond+ and Airport extreme and check the difference.

Edit: Spoke too soon; speeds dropped back down. My airport extreme will consistently download a 2GB file at about 6.8MB/s and take 5-6 min to download the file; the Almond+ will hit around 2-3 MB/s and take around 16min.
Consider this resolved. Tracked it down to 2.4 ghz channel interference on the Almond+.
