Title: LAN ports randomly disconnecting
Post by: robh5791 on October 05, 2014, 08:09:59 pm
I have not used my LAN based devices much since updating to the newest firmware but noticed tonight that a network drive that has been connected since getting the Almond is having major issues with the LAN connection and just now I noticed that my LAN ports are showing random disconnect with the red X on the LCD UI of the Almond which tells me it may be a firmware issue and not a device issue since the devices work fine otherwise and perfectly previous to the newest firmware. I realize the Almond is a work in progress but having issues with things that worked perfectly for 2 months seems counterproductive to me. I do not have time to contact support at this point so I am hoping someone can give me some advice on how this can be resolved or at least some troubleshooting that anyone else has done on a similar issue with the LAN ports randomly disconnecting.

Have you checked that the cables are inserted properly?
If that doesn't solve it, then it might be one of two recent issues we've found that are affecting a very small amount of units.

Ok, can you contact the support team, as I think we're going to have to replace your Almond+.

A very small amount of Almond+'s have a connector issue, so if the new cable doesn't fix it, we'll be replacing it for you.

I just realised, this was a UI graphics bug, your WAN port is actually working, the red and green parts are mixed up and should be the other way around. This was fixed in the latest firmware.
Hence the text saying that the Almond is connected to the modem, but it can't connect to the internet.
This is a different problem that I first though, sorry about that.
Please continue to work with our support team for now to get this issue solved.

Thanks for the clarification..when I had a red mark and a message like in picture ...The red mark automatically changes to green within a sec ..and I don't have any disconnection and Xbox one is connection are kept when I play online ... so it's just a graphic bug ???

Did you try upgrading to R067? It should fix that issue at least and hopefully provide better stability.
We'll also have a new beta firmware later this week with overall performance improvements and new Wi-Fi drivers.
