Title: Homemade XBee ZigBee Sensor
Post by: teshdor on October 21, 2014, 12:55:33 am
I'd like to start building my own sensors using the popular XBee and Arduino boards. Where can we get more information on setting them up to communicate with the Almond+, and writing the code for the logic on the Almond+ end. I noticed you guys were working on support for individual marketed sensors, and it looks like its a lot of work. It might go faster if you open the automation end (Zwave and Zigbee) to the community.

Hi Dave,

I just picked up my almond+ & I'm looking into a similar project. I'm at the beginning stages of researching how to knock it out. Right now I'm considering the nRF24L01, but I'm not sure if it's possible. I haven't checked compatible frequencies or anything. I'm at the very beginning of the networking phase.

Any progress on this? Getting an Almond+ tomorrow and can't wait to try some homebrewed sensors!
