Hey all,
Just letting you know that I have a couple Linear GD00Z-4 garage door openers on their way from Amazon right now. I will be testing them out this weekend, but am wondering if anyone else has some experience with them and whether or not they tried them on the Almond + yet. I'll be sure to post my results as soon as I get them set up or... not set up... whatever the case may be 8)

They're working on adding support for them, we have one, but it's hasn't been that high priority to add support for it as yet, but I guess it's time to get it added, as I know we have a few other people who have them as well.
-
So it probably won't work when I get it, but the plan is to have it working? I can live with that :)
-
Yes, the plan is to support it and I've talked to Linear about it, as we're right next to them at the show. Although the guy there was super grumpy, he said they'll give us "some pointers" on how to add support for it, as apparently it's one of a kind Z-Wave device...
-
Alright, I got the devices today! Paired it and, as expected, it showed as an unsupported device. If there is any testing you would like me to do, let me know! I'm glad to lend some work to the cause.
-
I'll let you know, once we've added support for it.
-
I am planning to buy one too. Does anyone know if the support has been added.
-
It still doesn't work. I have one and checked it on the new firmware.
-
As a reminder for those who don't know when testing a previously unsupported device make sure you remove and re add the device it won't automatically be supported.
-
This has not been added to R070as, the guys are working on it though, but I'm not sure if it'll make it into R071, it might be R072.
-
I'd be happy getting support for the GD00Z-4 as well. Seems like several of us are hoping for it soon.
-
so my Almond sees my Linear door opening and registers it as a garage door opener, but after I hooked it all up it shows up with a circle and a line through the middle, does that mean its still not supported ?
-
It's not supported in the apps yet, hence the initial support mentioned in the release notes.
Can you verify that it works via the LCD UI though?
Sadly I can't tell you when there'll be app support for it, as this always takes some time.
-
Does it work via the web UI?
-
I've got two of these. I'll set them up tonight and update tomorrow whether it works in the WebUI, App, and Display Console
-
Ok, I just paired up one of the Linear devices.
Like the person who posted before me said, the device shows as "Garage Door Opener" in the WebUI when accessing the router by IP address. But it's an "Unsupported Device" I expected that because Lars said it's not fully functional.
I did check in the LCD UI though in Connected Sensors. It shows the device. When I tap the device it says "Closed" and I have the "Open" or "Close" options. I've connected up everything and hitting either of the two options will open/close the door. The status does not change in the LCD UI, also as expected as Lars mentioned the Tilt Sensor is not yet supported.
Pretty cool to have this in the system! I didn't have anything already in place for this, so I'll just be leaving it connected and every once in a while I'll spook my wife when I'm sitting at my computer next to the Almond +. Looking forward to updates that will let this be a fully supported solution! Glad to see there is progress.

Good news, the GD00Z will be fully supported from the next firmware. The tilt sensor works, the strobe and siren works. It'll only be in the LCD UI for now, until the other developers have had a chance to add it to the local web UI, cloud UI and apps.
-
That is great news!
Is there are schedule for release of the next firmware.
Not complaining, just voicing my opinion.. while the LCD is a neat feature, I'd personally rather see support for things in general to be available in the webui first, the app second, the cloud third and the lcd last. After a solid rules engine, home automation needs the remote access, From my perspective if I am in a position to actuate something via the lcd then I'm in a position to do it manually so its less of a benefit.
