Title: MySQL on Almond+
Post by: Zexon83 on January 16, 2015, 06:29:33 pm
This may be a really stupid idea but I'm curious if it is possible. I use a program called Kodi (formally XBMC) and with my setup I have a MySQL server that is hosted off from my computer that holds my library in it. I was thinking if I could transfer my MySQL library into the Almond+ and then add USB HDD to the router I wouldn't need to have my desktop on to watch movies in my living room. Is this possible? And before I attempt anything like this I would like to know if there is a failsafe way to recover my Almond+ if I corrupt the OS?

No idea, but a hard reset restores a fresh image of the OS from flash.

No how to get it to work, but since it is linux, as long as you have the hardware everything is possible with some effort.

Seems someone tried it.

Just make sure you do not keep the database on the internal flash, I doubt it is rated for a lot of read/writes that a database can generate.
