Hi all - I'm a newbie to the forum and home automation in general. Got my Almond+ last week. I'm excited about home automation features and iOS app, but after reading a lot of posts here I'm still confused about functionality...
My question: eventually, will Almond+ with iOS app be able to control/integrate all my Z-wave devices and allow me to set up if/then rules among those devices? (eg) if the door opens, a light will come on. I already have a z-wave lamp set up for on/off and a door sensor.
Right now, it appears that this type of if/then scenario requires third-party hardware and software to accomplish it. And a computer being on full time to run the software. My Almond+ is powered up full time (obviously) and I'd like to see it serving that function, not another computer
I can wait for that Almond+ functionality if it's coming in a future firmware/app update, but want to make sure I understand planned capability. And if it is coming, a timeframe would be much appreciated.
Thanks much for your expertise
best regards,
Rob

Sorry folks -- looks like I answered my own question by finding the beta firmware update into. Seems the Almond+ and web UI is all I need to proceed with automation. But if I'm wrong please yell!
Just purchased a couple z-wave lighting control/dimmer switches... we'll see how this goes.
best regards

With the latest firmware update, simple home automation rules have been implemented. The goal all along was to have a full fledge home automation center. They will continue to add support for more devices, they are just working through all of the kinks now. FYI, I have a rule that turns on my light when I open my door already working on the Almond+. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks, Blueiris8! I appreciate the response, and glad the experience will continually improve. I did manage to get the door/light combo working too. Now feeling a great sense of new-user instant gratification :D The beta firmware seems really stable.
