I know its only a beta release but it would be great to have some options for "quick rules".... for lighting mainly, a dusk/dawn option that automatically takes into account date and time zone to automatically tweak on/off times based on this.
My old old x10 system had a dusk/ dawn operation so certain lights I could set for that and never had to touch them again as they auto adapted to changes in daylights times and hours, daylight savings time, etc. It also had a randomize option that within the dusk/dawn operation could vary on/off time for a "lived in" random look. Found both options very help as an easy "set and forget" with some lights.
Also, can rules be edited in the beta? I might be missing it, but if I create a rule and want to change it - I'm not seeing how to edit it, only recreate the rule and delete the old.

That's a good idea.
In addition to just dusk/dawn (assuming dusk/dawn look up civil twilight online),
what about the possibility of setting multiple time based settings?
Ie, maybe have all the upstairs bedrooms turn off at 9am, then downstairs heat bump up. Then, maybe at lunch time, something else... etc etc

The home automation software I was using before had a similar feature where I could set up rules that would initiate at sunset, and other rules that would initiate at sunrise.
IE. At sunset, my outside lights would turn on, and at sunrise, those same lights would turn off. Also at sunset, the system knew to turn my inside lights on when I used the touchpad to unlock my front door so that I could see when I entered my home.
I would LOVE to see this feature incorporated.

I would like this as well as to have the option to set a custom offset. I currently use IFTTT to turn on and off a light based on sunrise and sunset. However, I generally like to have the light turn on a few minutes before sunset otherwise it gets too dark in my room.

I believe that is already in the plans, I thought I read it in another forum post but that it wasn't going to be ready for a bit. Could be wrong.

The plan is to integrate this with the weather app data, so we'll also be able to add things like outside temperature and a few other things to this. It'll take some time to integrate this though, but it's very much a planned feature.
