I have the GE one and it works without any issues. Also much cheaper often times than $45. It seems to move a lot but you can get them in the $20 - $30 range on Amazon and Ebay at different times.

They seem high now but I know about 1 month ago they were like $40 but one day dropped to $28 before going back up.

How far away are you able to keep the A+ from the outside z-wave module and still be able to control it?

It is only about 12 feet right now. If yours is much further I would include z wave devices in between to repeat the signal.

Oh yeah, I forgot each z-wave device acts as a repeater.

Mains powered devices do I don't believe any battery powered ones do for battery life.

Only mains powered devices will act as repeaters, the same applies to ZigBee and Z-Wave.
