I initially thought that when you have a 802.11ac device connected and then a 802.11n (5ghz) device connects to the router, then the AC device would drop down to N speeds. Is this incorrect? Also, does the same apply for the 2.4ghz spectrum in terms of G and N devices?
-
No, it's not correct.
If the 11n device is actively using the connection, then the 11ac devices would slow down, but they would not fall back to 11n speeds. Same goes for the 2.4GHz band.

My previous router allowed you to specify if you wanted the 5ghz band to do AC only. Do you think the almond+ will have this feature/option in the future?

It already does, please check the local web UI.

Could you tell me which one of these is 5ghz N only? It looks like they are all mixed.

There's no 5GHz 802.11n only option at the moment.
-
Oh sorry, I meant 5ghz AC only. Not N only.

Again, no such option as yet.

My bad, sorry, I misread, though he was asking about the frequency, not an option to send the 5GHz to AC only devices.
