I have a question about how the Almond+ executes the rules. Now, I understand that it is still in beta testing, but I am having trouble getting consistency with rules.
For example, I have a rule for my front lights to come on at 5pm at 40% (on a dimmer). I have another rule that turns the lights off at 5am. For some reason the rule is hit and miss.
Also, for the "between" rules, does the Almond+ poll these at set intervals? Or are they one-shot, like the "at" rules?

Rules backend is yet to be stabilized and we are almost there

Here is one example how the between Rule works.
if you keep a Rule like if time in between 2pm-4pm and the light is On then turn the light Off.
In this case if light becomes On in between 2pm-4pm then it turns the light Off,in other times it won't care that Rule.

Speaking of light rules I'd love to see a sunrise sunset rule ! Our sunrises and sunsets continuously change and are several hours different at different times of the year!
Thanks for the rules we do have though!

The rules will be vastly improved in next weeks release, but we still have at least another months of work before we're going to happy with things.
Sunset/Sunrise is planned, but I don't have an ETA for that as I've mentioned elsewhere.

i have a front porch timer that has astronomical time setting. Set your Lat and Long and never adjust it for sunset/sunrise again.
That will be a great rule to have for other lights in the house.

Awesome,, thanks Lars,
I look forward to it!

I uploaded the beta fw and did the rules but sadly it didn't work. All I did was do the if at 5pm the porch lights are off, then I'll turn on the porch light. I hope the final fw will work as promised.

That's strange, did you check the time on Almond+?.If the time on Almond+ is not same as current time then run Time Synchronization from the Time app. After time synchronization check the Rule execution again.
Even with the same time also if the Rule is not working then we will try to resolve this in our future firmwares.

This isn't strange if the porch lights are GE link lights. The rules seem to turn the bulb on, but the dimmer is at 0%. Is this going to be fixed with next week's release?

Yes, this has been fixed.
