Title: R070 With Linear WD500Z-1 Dimmer Switch Bug(s)
Post by: fillibar on February 11, 2015, 01:54:20 pm
Potential bug(s) I noticed with my switches on the Web interface:

Note: These bugs do not appear to impact my GE Link bulbs.

Worked with the WD500Z-1 tonight more as I was dealing with Rules. Discovered the following issue which may or may not have been around before:
Changes at the switch itself are not detected by the Almond+.
Ex: Changing the switch to On, at the switch, does not register as any change in the state OR dimmer value at the Almond+. Turning if Off also does not get detected.

However, the switch responds to whatever settings the Almond+ sends to it. I was trying to set up 2 Rules such that when the switch was turned on (actually set to have a Dimmer value of 99%, since it never gets read or set at 100%) it would turn off a GE Link bulb. The other rule was to turn it off. These rules work fine if I do it all through the Almond+ or the app.

Just to check, I tried this with all 4 of my switches and none of the changes made physically at the switch are showing in Almond+.

I have several of these and it has always been this way.

I figured they were working as best they could. But it appears some of the other controllers out there do get the status (from what I could tell with Google searches at least) so I think this is just still work in progress. After all the switches themselves have really only been supported by the Almond+ for a few releases.
