Title: Install Aeon Labs Micro Switch
Post by: mparadis on February 25, 2015, 01:46:43 pm
Anyone have any experience installing an Aeon Labs micro switch to a standard (US) wall switch? I haven't done it but would like to do so. Anyone tried linking these with the almond yet?

No, it won't work yet, as we haven't added support for secondary controllers and they won't be added until scenes are done, sorry.

It's considered a secondary controller? I thought it was just a switch.

Oh, sorry, my bad. That should hopefully work, we have others like it working, but we haven't tested that exact model.  If it works the same way as the other models, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the update on them. I was about to buy some when the topic came up and had me all confused.

I installed one and it paired fine, but the light would not come on with either the z wave command or the wall switch. I had to take it back out.

Strange. I haven't gotten around to doing it, will eventually...

Out of curiousity, how did you wire the wall switch to the aeon labs switch?

mparadis,

I followed the wiring diagram from their site. I cut the black live wire and put it in the live terminals on the switch. Then placed the white wire on the other side (N) and wired the two leads out to the wall switch with 18 AWG wire as they instructed. I got power to the micro switch, and it paired, but the light would not come on via either the wall switch or the sensor command.
