Title: Guest network not turning off
Post by: engr.jpc on April 20, 2015, 11:32:27 pm
I tried turning on my guest network and now I am unable to turn it off. The SSID is still showing up even aftet disabling it. The web amd LCD UI's both show that the guest network is not enabled but I can still see it. Tried rebooting my A+ a couple of times but it didn't help. Perhaps it's a bug?

I presume this is on a mobile device? If you turn off and on the Wi-Fi on that device, it should refresh the cache.
Try something like Wifi Analyzer if it's an Android device and I'm pretty sure the guest network will not be listed.

My iphone and my wife's iphone are still both seeing the ssid even after turning off and on the wifi... even tried rebooting the devices. My macbook pro still sees the ssid as well.

Ok, this is the thing, many devices cache the list of Wi-Fi networks, so you'll have to manually refresh the list for them to disappear.
Can either device connect to the guest network once you've turned it off? I presume not.
If you can connect to it when it's turned off, then we have a problem, but I haven't been able to reproduce this.

I tried your suggestions but the guest ssid is still showing up. Also, I deleted a port forwarding I setup when I first received my A+ but it's still showing up on the list. It did ask me to save it after deleting it and says it was saved but it's still there. Something seems not right. I will try to reset it this weekend... I hope the reset fixes it.
