Apparently there are a few posts on the forum asking about using the Almond+ to connect to a VPN server (OpenVPN).
The functionality exists for OpenWRT, but hasn't been rolled out for the unit.
I see a staff member (Rahaman) mentioned in late January this feature would be added in a future release.
Ultimately I would like to know if there is an ETA or if in fact, this is still being considered.
It would be a highly desirable feature for myself and I imagine a few others.
I don't even mind if I have to configure the connection directly through OpenWRT.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. :)

@ imprevo,
We have started adding support for the Open VPN to Almond+ and presently, testing is going on to ensure that it comes out any issues. Unfortunately, I don't have any ETA as of yet.

Any word on this? It has been nearly 3 months since the last post which stated testing was underway. Hopefully we've made some progress? Thanks for any update

@ WeaslyD.
It's been few weeks, where we released the Beta firmware which has the Open VPN feature. Depending upon the feedback, hopefully, our next release may have this feature.

I do not fully understanding the complexities of VPN. However, with my Almond+ and software version R080, on the web interface ("Advanced"), I see the option to enable a VPN server. What is the difference between what appears to be currently available ("VPN Server") and "OpenVPN?"
Thanks.
